I stumbled upon Posterous and it sounds a bit like my BLoGnBOX.
Posterous came out in 2008; BLoGnBOX went live in 2006.
BLoGnBOX was never hosted but the concept is the same: Email to Blog posting.
Posterous recently announced Markdown support.
Markdown is very similiar to my own AFT.
